Analog and digital phone systems, and to a much larger degree VoIP-based phone systems, have long been plagued by concern that those with malicious intent can exploit the technology, secretly get ahold of PIN numbers or passwords and make very expensive overseas calls before being detected. To address this, Kerio has incorporated enhanced security mechanisms into Kerio Operator 1.1, including dynamic protection against password guessing and the ability to monitor, detect and prevent abnormal use of any extension within the phone system.

Kerio has long pushed the limits of what's possible in the user interface - making configuration tasks easy for administrators and simplifying work for end-users. The key to Kerio Operator 1.1's simplicity is the Web-based GUI that enables IT administrators to add and delete users, deploy security mechanisms and set-up call queues. Once for all, this eliminates the need to have to call the expensive telephony guy for an onsite visit ever again.

Kerio Operator utilizes the industry-standard SIP VoIP protocol, compatible with any IP phone and SIP provider, and will auto-configure with many popular phones, such as Cisco, Polycom, Snom, or Linksys.
