Microsoft ending SBS opens the door for better solutions

If you're on MS Windows Small Business Server (SBS), you need another solution -- fast. As of January 2014, SBS was discontinued and Windows Server 2012 Essentials is its "new" replacement. Bye-bye SBS. Bye-bye email (Essentials doesn't have it)!

This is a calculated move by Microsoft designed to push more people onto its cloud-based Office 365 offering. Yet having done so, it has opened the door for easier-to-use, more powerful, less expensive alternatives to come in.

Right after Microsoft made its announcement, our partners and customers began telling us how confused and concerned they are about Microsoft's decision. They didn't understand what it meant for them. All they cared about was not having an expensive monkey wrench disrupting their business.

To dispel the understandable FUD (fear-uncertainty-doubt) Microsoft is creating and provide much needed clarity, we've created a white paper you can download now called Migrating from SBS? Five Questions You Must Consider. It lays out the information you need to decide which of the various SBS migration choices is right for you. In it, we:

  • Cover the four ways you can choose to respond to Microsoft's action
  • Pose the five most important questions you need to consider and discuss the major issues and implications surrounding them
  • Provide a detailed chart with the five most popular solutions, the key criteria and how each solution meets them (or not).

Meanwhile, when you do decide to migrate, why not migrate to a better, more powerful solution, like Kerio Connect? Kerio's Connect:

  • Supports cloud and on-premise options
  • Offers much lower total cost of ownership
  • Doesn't disrupt users - support Outlook and other major email clients
  • Easy and powerful administration capabilities

Kerio Connect has the flexibility to fit right in with your business processes. And perhaps best of all, Kerio Connect will make your life easier (your business life that is).
